1st Doctor's appointment

How awesome is this picture? Looks like I'm growing a worm, but I wanted to put some sort of picture up.
I had quite an interesting doctor's appointment. First off I am estimated to be 5 weeks & 5 days along. I can tell this is going to be a long one. Well I had my usual natal checkups, questions, and blood tests. The blood tests turned out to be not so normal. On your first visit they have to take a lot of blood because they do so many tests on it. (Most of you know my history with needles, and know I went to therapy for it and was doing great). Since it took longer than usual I started feeling a little icky towards the end, so I tried to do my breathing to get over it. That didn't help so they brought me some juice. Meanwhile my vision was like 'snow' on a TV set and my hearing was going out. They asked if I wanted to go lay down and I did so I had a nurse on each side of me take me to another room. All I remember was standing up and then waking up on a table and the nurse patting my cheek and saying, "are you with us?" I had passed out for my first time, and not only once I guess, but 3 times and they told me I seized! So weird. I just felt like I fell asleep and was dreaming. (Viewer discretion advised on this next part) I woke up very sweaty so they brought me some cold presses and I guess the whole ordeal didn't sit well with my stomach and I had to go to the bathroom right away even though I was still woozy. The nurse wanted to make sure I didn't fall over on the toilet so she kept the door open while I had diarrhea. So embarrassing! They wanted Ethan to come pick me up, but their office is like 45 minutes from our house and I didn't want to come back to get my car, so I had to stay in the waiting room till they said it was ok for me to go. What a day!

OK, the way I see it, this will be the worst part of it and from here on out, it will be a breeze! So sorry you had such a bad day. I wish I lived closer, so I could have gone to get you. Where was Logan during all this? The picture does look like the creature from "Alien"!

Oh my goodness! You poor thing, that stinks you had to deal with that. I am exactly the opposite. Seriously, I watch them poke me and find myself fascinated with the whole process. I used to ask for shots when I was younger so it is a good thing I joined the church or I'd probably be a druggie! (totally kidding about the druggie part, but seriously, I am a freak.) I wish I could share some of that with you. :o) Good luck with all the pokes to come, I wish I could help.

Oh Ashley, I'm so sorry. What an appointment. i'm sure you are VERY glad to have the blood work out of the way. Now you can look forward to the fun appointments of hearing the baby on the doppler and having ultrasounds!

Wow, that is a scary story, I know how it goes though when they were putting the IV in me for delivering Jude, I almost passed out because I sweated so much I was become quickly dehydrated and I was hyperventilating it is no fun. I hope the rest goes better, was Logan with you?

Logan was at my friend Shawna's house (where his buddy Hunter lives) and she is also pregnant so I'll watch Hunter while she goes to the doctor. We see the same doctor too.

When are you due?

That would make me due around March 20th. And to answer another question, we don't really care what we get, but for some reason we just have boys in our head.

Holy cow, Ashley!! Do you think the main problem was the needles, or the fact that you had indigestion? Poor girl! Are they worried about the seizure? Did your blood tests turn out ok?
