34 weeks #3

I went to the doctor on Wednesday, everything is good.
I told my doctor I had zero energy and he recommended I drink coffee or soda. Ha! I told him I don't drink coffee, but soda I can do.

Isn't that a funny recomendation?

My next visit I have my group B strep test and then my visits are every week after that.
Time sure is flying.

that's funny that he recommended coffee or soda. I would think they would say something like, it will all be over soon, or some other non helpful tip of helping you deal with the end of pregnancy. I find it doesn't help to even complain to the doctors when I'm pregnant. I had a really hard time sleeping when I was pregnant with Eliza but didn't have that problem with the other two so I would bring it up and he was just like, that's part of pregnancy for most women. I wanted to sock him in the face but maybe that was the sleep deprivation talking ;)

You are so close to being done, that's nuts! Are you ready to try your hand at 3!?! I have to say it is awesome some days and other days I want to pull my hair out but I think being a mom is that way no matter how many kids you have and I think you'll be awesome

What a cute preg lady you are! Maybe it is just me, but it seems like this weeks you can tell a difference in size from the last picture..?! Whatever, still cute!

You are really getting close. I too am surprised your Dr. recommended coffee or soda, I don't think caffein is good for babies. When I told my Dr. I was extremely tired all the time with Kyle, he just said i was getting older, and I should nap more, turns out I had hypoglycemia! He was no help at all. You look especially cute in your picture this week.

Hehehe--you're my favorite friend to see when she's preggers, because it always looks so fake when you are nearing the end! You're so tiny and then there's this giant bulbous lump for a belly that makes me giggle. Too cute.

Oh yeah and your coffee story reminds me of a co-worker of mine who every morning says to me, "Man, I don't know how you get up without coffee!" When I remind him I have to take medicine for my sleep disorder than makes coffee look like water, he still says, "Yeah, but how do you get up without coffee?"

I am going to be very blunt Ashley because I love you......Seriously? I would have stopped going to that doctor.... Drinking soda is NOT going to give you more energy in the long run. It will at first and then your blood sugar will be worse off then it was before you drank it.... Plus, unless you want to get a ton bigger which i am assuming you don't that will not help..... Finally, it's not good for the baby! It's doing the same thing to the baby's blood sugar as it's doing to yours....We miss you guys!

I'm with Rachael. What kind of weirdo do you go to? That's the dumbest suggestion from an OB I've ever heard! Soda is one of the number one causes of yucky weight gain in pregnancy and can cause some blood sugar issues too. Not to mention, many sodas have aspartame which is a big pregnancy no-no. Very odd advice from a doc.

Anywho, you look SO cute! You have the best pregnancy belly ever and I'll bet you look like you're not even preggers from behind. Ha! Punk. As for sleep, it is so normal at the end to feel beyond tired. I know that doesn't help, but it's true. Do you sleep well at night? If not, you could try some unisom or phenegrin (sp?) for night-time sleep. Also, make sure you have enough magnesium and iron because deficiencies will make you tired. One last thing, if the fatigue seems excessive it may be a thyroid issue. Mine went bad with Eli and never bounced back. You may need to have your TSH tested. Hang in there, you're so close. The home stretch is the hardest part! :o)
